Miscellaneous

Just a couple random pictures I've taken from this year.
I'm probably too old to be buing something with Minnie Mouse on it, but it was so cute! XD
I actually use these date books as mini journals; I try to write down a few things I did every day of the year. It's great for when you don't have the time to sit down and write a three page journal entry.

A card I made my pen pal!

Thanksgiving Holiday 2014

It's rather late to be posting these,  but here are some pictures I took over Thanksgiving. I got to spend some time up north in some beautiful mountains! Some of my pictures came out with large pixels (maybe I was using the wrong file size?) so that was disappointing, but otherwise, I was satisfied with how most of them came out.

Geting into Focus

Can you believe it's already November?! I feel like Fall is just flying by! It has FINALLY started to get properly cold here. The weather where I live tends to be a bit bipolar.
I've been toying around with my camera some more, and thought I'd post some new pics. I really like taking closeups of things, and I have been having a tough time getting my camera to focus. Luckily, I did have a bit of luck today.

Haha I know, this is just a boring brick wall. BUT HEY MY CAMERA FOCUSED ON IT

My dog contemplating life...or probably thinking about treats.

Those orbs though

Such fence. Much metal. Very picture.

Have a great week everybody!

It's Been A While

Hello! It's been a quite a while since I've posted any pictures. Truth is, I've been kinda lazy about it :P  Some good news is, I got a new camera, and for free at that! The woman that gave it to me was also given the camera from her neighbor, so it's sort of become this pass-along camera. Whenever I can afford new camera, I will pass it on to someone else as well.
On to the camera itself; it is a Nikon COOLPIX 5700 (I have no idea what those numbers stand foor : P). It's pretty old, ( think it came out around 2002?) but it's definitely a step up from the point-and-shoot (or, 'compact') I was using previously (that camera gave this blog it's name because of it's color ^.^ ). I'm not sure that is is DSLR; I think it's a bridge camera which is in between a compact and an SLR. The woman also gave me some filters that I have yet to try out.
I haven't had as much time to play around with my camera as I used to but I still try to do it sometimes. I'm still kind of trying to get a feel for the camera controls. I'm reading a digital photography guidebook right now, so hopefully that will help me to get a good idea of all the basics.
Without further Adieu, here are some pictures of the camera (taken with the good 'ole point and shoot) and some sampl pics taken with the Nikon. : )

Have a lovely week!
