K-things

Hello! This post is just a ramble about various Korean things; much different from my normal photography posts.

Has anybody else noticed the booming popularity of Korean dramas and  K-pop? If you spend a reasonable amount of time on the web, chances are you've probably seen something about at least one of these in passing.
I had a burst of interest in Korea that started last year, about when I begam researching the Korean War. In general, I like learning about different countries and their cultures, and Korea is no exception. I've even read a few blogs by people from the US who went to teach English there, and I found them really fascinating!
Now, I  don't listen to a lot of K-pop but I have found a Korean band that I enjoy listening to called.Akdong  Musician. It's a brother-sister duo.   I don't know Korean, but they songs just sound so happy and cute! ^__^

As far as Korean dramas, I haven't seen much. I watched a few episodes of Dream High after reading Bub'z blog (  http://www.bubzbeauty.com/diary/40-dream-high.html ) and I liked it! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to watch much of it.
Sometime this year, I want to see what all the hype is about the movie "Boys Over Flowers". Again, this is another thing I've heard mentioned by Lindy from bubzbeauty. I've never seen anything with Lee Min-Ho in it before. Have any of you guy seen it?

Another Korean thing I've come across is seaweed chips. I came across them at Target  here in the US, and I allllmoost bought them. I don't know that I've ever eaten seaweed, and I'm curious to see how it tastes. I definitely want to try some this year.

What are some of your favorite Korean things?

Makeup!

 Hello everyone!

For Christmas, I got some new makeup from my Mom : ) . I think it's fun to play around with colorful eyeshadows and try out some of those tutorials that are all over Youtube and Pinterest.
I got really cool big e.l.f palette for Christmas : ) . Also, I use that Union Hack mug as a cute brush holder.

This was the eye look I tried today. I found a tutorial for it on Youtube : )

I will definitely be playing around with this palette more in the future, and I will probably post more makeup photos soon!

Christmas 2014

Hello everyone! Happy late New year! I hope 2015 is going to be awesome!

Christmas flew by quite fast for me, and I didn't take many pictures. I did, however, manage to obtain some images that have the "bokeh" effects, The bokeh are those circles of light behind my new Hello Kitty ornament : ) . Focusing on the ornament, the camera blurred the bright Christmas tree lights in the back until they were beautiful, colorful orbs.

My Mother likes to decorate our kitchen with all sorts of snowmen decorations.

We usually make this during Thanksgiving or Christmas every year. We call it puppy chow, but it has nothing do do with puupies : P . It's really tasty though. I ate almost all of it myself.
I hope you had a good Christmas and a lovely time celebrating the new year. Cheers!

Miscellaneous

Just a couple random pictures I've taken from this year.
I'm probably too old to be buing something with Minnie Mouse on it, but it was so cute! XD
I actually use these date books as mini journals; I try to write down a few things I did every day of the year. It's great for when you don't have the time to sit down and write a three page journal entry.

A card I made my pen pal!

Thanksgiving Holiday 2014

It's rather late to be posting these,  but here are some pictures I took over Thanksgiving. I got to spend some time up north in some beautiful mountains! Some of my pictures came out with large pixels (maybe I was using the wrong file size?) so that was disappointing, but otherwise, I was satisfied with how most of them came out.
